My Shiny New Home Alarm Systems

Friday, May 29th, 2009

I have been shopping for a home security system for 2 weeks now and I finally stumbled into one that seems to fit my pad, my wife and kids and our lifestyle.

We looked through several different security companies to find the least expensive alternative instead of the priciest alternative. I must say, that I was very happy with most of the web sites we looked at but one stood out above all the others and that was www.familyhomesecurity.com. Their security system information was special, eye opening and enlightening. I wish they were a company that set up security systems themselves because I know it would be done meticulously and with a great deal of care to cleanliness.

What made it a warm experience? Well, we saw a housebreakings 15 years ago that wasn’t very fun. Fortunately, we were out of town and they solely got jewelry and dollar bills. Now there are small fry in the household and a lot more priceless stuff like computing devices, electronics, and above all – family and family memories and photographs. We simply preferred to find the optimal alarm system that we could all employ and feel secure with. It was definitely time to receive one this month.

So, how did the family ensure the powerful security system? We began by seeking ‘home security systems’ on the search engines, then browsed through all of the sites on the starting page. A lot of them were trash…and I was sorry about that. Everybody I says Google is the fullest…in any case, later looking through those pages we couldn’t find what we were searching for. We aren’t searching for want a tough sales process and we didn’t want to consider a great deal about it. Most all of these internet sites were annoying sales pitches – I wanted info!

All of the corporations we viewed were Brinks, ADT, GE and Pinnacle. Most of them look to apply similar home security systems…and we at last finished with a Pinnacle Security system after reading the good info received at homesecurityguru and www.familyhomesecurity.com.

It’s good to consider great advisory internet sites out there on the matter of alarm systems.

I hope you find the right one for your family!

Fire Safety Tips

Tuesday, June 17th, 2008

Did you know that fire is the third leading cause of accidental deaths in the United States, yet most people ignore it. More than 150 workplace fires occur every day. So many of theses untimely deaths could have been prevented if they only had a plan.

The number one tip any family can have is, make sure all family members know what to do in the event of a fire. In a fire, timing is very critical. Don’t waste time getting dressed, don’t search for pets or valuables. Just get out! Set up a way for everyone to sound a family alarm. Screaming, pounding on walls, yelling “fire”!

If a fire happens in your home, you have to get out fast! Prepare for a fire emergency by sitting down with your family and agreeing on an escape plan. Be sure that everyone knows at least two escape exits, the doors and windows from every room. Decide on a meeting place outside where everyone will meet after they escape the fire. Have your entire household practice your escape plan at least twice a year.

Smoke detectors can alert you to a fire in your home in time for you to escape the blaze, it’s esp. useful when the family is asleep. Install smoke detectors on every floor of your home, including the basement. Test detectors every month, following the manufacturer’s directions, and replace batteries once a year, or whenever a detector “chirps” to signal low battery power. Make sure your alarm works at all times! A non functional smoke detector can’t save your life or your family’s. Replace detectors that are more than a years old.
Careless smoking is the leading cause of fire deaths in North America. Smoking in bed or when you are drowsy can be extremely dangerous. Provide smokers with ashtrays and soak butts with water before discarding them. Before going to bed or leaving home after a smoker has been smoking, check around and make sure there aren’t any lit buds.

Never leave cooking unattended. Keep cooking areas clear of combustibles. Turn pot handles inward on the stove where you can’t bump them and children can’t grab them and burn themselves. If grease catches fire in a pan, slide a lid over the pan to smother the flames and turn off the heat. Leave the lid on until cool. For more safety tips and products visit www.safetyrus.com
